Dr. Sasho Mackenzie

Dr. Sasho Mackenzie, one of the foremost researchers in golf biomechanics, presents his groundbreaking study on why some golfers hit their 7-iron the same speed as their playing partner but lose 40+ yards with the driver.

In collaboration with Ping Engineering, Sasho tested 32 golfers — measuring stock 7-iron speed, max-effort 7-iron speed, and driver speed — then used his proprietary Forward Dynamics model to isolate exactly what separates the "achievers" from the "underachievers."

The answer involves grip speed vs. angular velocity, swing kinetics, capacity reserves, and equipment — and it all comes down to one number: 1.18.
